We had the chance to chat with Jonathan, who found a job though RSG while serving in the United States Air Force.

What motivated you to join the military?

I joined the United States Air Force. I believe that everyone deserves to go and experience things in life and what better way to do that than to serve your country.

What is your primary job after training (MOS)?

I am Surgical technologist. I work closely with the Surgeon. My task is to ensure we have all our equipment and surgery materials to perform a safe surgery for the patient.

Where did you serve most of the time in service?

I am Reservist and I spent my training at two different locations. I was at the San Antonio joint base, were I received tech schooling for my job. Then after that, I went to the orange state of the USA and got to experience the Florida waters. I was in Eglin Air Force Hospital, there I finished my externship and accomplished my training.

How does your military experience affect your life today and helped you in your current job?

We are always told, “be prepare you never know the hour or day when you are called on to serve your country”. This has been engraved in my head to always prepare yourself. I learned from the military: work has a team. It’s crucial that the mission is completed. Air Force motto, ” integrity first, serve before self, excellence in all we do”.

How did you get connected with Resource Staffing Group?

While searching for employment and going to school I needed to work. I contacted this outstanding Temp Agency (Resource Staffing Group) that worked very well with my schedule. They were very attentive and always giving me hours and honoring my requests.

How does working with Resource Staffing Group help you while being active in the reserves?

Resource Staffing Group group has worked around my hectic schedule. Always gave me a heads up to see if I was available. Also ensured if something came up on my end to where I couldn’t work due to military life. The ladies at Resource Staffing Group took care of it.

What is your favorite part of working with the RSG team?

My favorite part is when the ladies at Resource Staffing Group call me and tell me that their clients liked me very much. It makes Resource Staffing Group look great and it makes me feel proficient.

What job did RSG place you on and how does this job tie in w/ your military background/experience?

The job Resource Staff Group placed me on were mainly on Periodontal dentistry. Also other Dental specialities. I work in Periodontal Dentistry, involving sterile procedures; Dental Implants, gum grafting, Sinus lift, Pocket reduction, soft tissue grafting. This ties in with my military experience of assisting and ensuring all sterility, materials and equipment is ready to go.

What’s some of the best advice you’ve received from someone else about work?

The best advice I’ve received about work is: Action creates opportunity.

What do you love doing in your free time?

In my free time I like to travel and explore what this world has in store. I enjoy hiking and working on my fitness. I like expanding my languages and adding on another. It’s not free time, but I enjoy it. I teach piano to individuals who want to learn.

What is one personal goal you have for yourself in 2020?

Personal goal I have well I have two, Finish school with outstanding grades. The other is to prepare and train for Bodybuilding.
